\u2018The Deep\u2019 is already a Heavy Web favourite and one of our treasured original designs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

I had been sharing with my kid\u2019s the story of the Kracken, a mythical giant cephalopod sea monster originating from Scandinavian folklore, and it must have inspired me because the following day I allowed my imagination to run wild.<\/p>

The design is based on a giant octopus, a playful take on a real-life creature from the deep.\u00a0 <\/span>It was great fun creating the flowing lines of the legs and finding movement in the body.\u00a0 <\/span>Pencil sketches were drawn (and redrawn) until I was happy with the design, the final artwork was highlighted in fine liner pen and then digitally traced - and this is where the real fun started.<\/p>

I wanted to create a statement, an uplifting piece of art, but also a stylish design that would look equally as good as a wall print or on the back of t shirt.\u00a0 <\/span>I chose yellows, blues, pinks and purples to colour the image, and I am really pleased with the final design.\u00a0 <\/span>As a piece of pop art \u2018The Deep\u2019 is instantly recognisable as it\u2019s intended sea monster, but the flowing lines also make a colourful abstract image that is sure to make a statement.<\/p>

I love to wear this piece as an everyday t shirt, the hoodie looks great as a cover up by the British seaside and the jumper looked at home worn at festivals in the summer.<\/p>
