I knew I wanted to draw a video tape, but I didn't just want to copy an old picture off the internet - this led to searching car boot sales and antique stores until I found one that really inspired and interested me. If you have not held a VHS in a while (and in the age of streaming, why would you), I would sincerely recommend it. Memories come flooding back to you when you feel the black plastic, click the flap down on the top (and let it spring back) and inspect the cardboard sleeve for old recorded shows ('Dad's tape, do not record over') - the Hollywood movie tapes are easier to find, and even those with the satisfying robust snap of the hard plastic box cover bring back happy memories.<\/p><p><\/p><p>I have kept this design simple, a black video cassette housed in a familiar 1980's cardboard sleeve. I have tried hard to keep the colours authentic - and I've added interest with a tea stain from the cassette being used as a coaster whilst watching a favourite TV soap.<\/p><p><\/p><p>Wear your VHS t shirt, hoodie or jumper out and about and it's sure to be a great talking point.
